Back From Cleveland
The trip to Cleveland has come and gone. The shortest time of the journey was spent at the Dr’s office. Our little one did really well on all four plane trips. Not one balling session our of her. The flights and airport experience went really smooth. TSA was quite accommodating of our extra items and did not give any problems. They actually went out of their way to help us with our baggage.
The expense for the whole trip came to $1150. The plane tickets were $855 while the hotel was $135 and the Cleveland expenses were $160. The latter included taxi service from airport to hotel and back, as well as food. The Dr’s visit should be taken care of by state Medicaid, I hope. We were not asked to pay a copay as others were, so I am guessing that it was taken care of.
Now onto the reason for going. The 2 Dr’s that examined the little one came to the conclusion that she has a degenerative disease. They feel that here condition will worsen over time. Of course, they need to have more tests done to find out what disease she has, but there is 20% chance of not finding an answer. My wife and I were not happy with the diagnosis. This was a devastating prognosis. We were numb on the trip back.
Let me tell you this though. We are holding to any hope that they are wrong. We have seen our daughter make some progress over the last year, whether it is slow or not. Just his past month, she has been pushing up on her legs and has been weight bearing. These little things will keep us pushing forward with her. We will keep praying for her and give her what ever she needs to aid her development.

You and your family are in our prays. Good luck.
Gosh…as a mom my heart goes out to you and your wife! Please keep hope…your child needs you to! I will keep praying for your child… God Bless You All !
Thanks for the kind words Meg and Dawn. My wife keeps saying “The Lord only gives you what you can handle.” We must have some high threshold. We do know that everyone has their burden and are very happy to have 2 wonderful daughters and will do our best to raise both of them no matter what life throws at us.
